3.3. 使用 DOM 查看器查看元素
DOM 查看器能够让您查看任何页面的 DOM 解析。您可以获得每一个 HTML 元素，属性和文本节点的详细信息；您也可以看到每一个页面式样的所有的CSS标准；您也可以看到每个对象所有的脚本属性。它具有非常强大的功能。
DOM 查看器包含在 Firefox 的安装程序中，但并不都是默认安装的，这取决于您的操作系统。如果您在 Firefox 的“工具”菜单中看不到“DOM 查看器”选项，那么您需要重新安装 Firefox 来获得 DOM 查看器。 重新安装 Firefox 并不会影响您现有的书签，设置，扩展以及用户脚本。
步骤：安装 DOM 查看器
运行 Firefox 的安装程序。
在接受了用户协议之后，选择定制安装。
选择好安装路径之后，安装向导会询问您要选择安装的组件。这时，选择开发工具。
在安装结束之后，运行 Firefox。您将会在tools菜单下看到 DOM 查看器。
下面我们将要访问 Dive Into Greasemonkey 的主页，让您了解 DOM 查看器的强大功能。

在菜单栏中，选择 工具 → DOM 查看器，打开DOM 查看器。
在 DOM 查看器窗口的左侧窗格中，您会看到 DOM 节点的列表。如果不能看到列表，打开左上角的下拉菜单，选择 DOM Nodes。
DOM 的树状列表从 document 节点开始，标记为 #document。展开此节点，可以看到 HTML 节点。
展开 HTML 后可以看到三个节点：HEAD, #text, 和 BODY。注意：BODY 的 id 为 diveintogreasemonkey-org。调整窗格的宽度就可以看到它。
展开 BODY 可以看到五个节点: #text, DIV id="intro", #text, DIV id="main", 以及 #text。
展开 DIV id="intro" 可以看到两个节点：#text 和 DIV class="sectionInner"。
展开 DIV class="sectionInner" 可以看到两个节点：#text 和 DIV class="sectionInner2".
展开 DIV class="sectionInner2" 可以看到五个节点： #text, DIV class="s", #text, DIV class="s", 以及 #text.
展开第一个 DIV class="s" 可以看到五个节点： #text, H1, #text, P,以及#text.
选择 H1 节点。 这时，在访问页面上 (在 DOM Inspector 窗口的下方), H1 元素将会闪现红色的边框。在 DOM Inspector 的右侧窗格中，您将会看到这个节点的名称 (“H1”), 名称域的 URI (这项将会是空白, 因为 HTML 没有名称域), 节点类型 ，以及节点值(这项将会是空白，因为 headers 没有这个属性).
在右侧窗格的顶部，有一个下拉菜单，在这个菜单中，您会看到一些选项: DOM Node, Box Model, XBL Bindings, CSS Style Rules, Computed Style, 以及 Javascript Object. 这些选项提供了一些当前被选中节点的信息。这些信息中的一部分是可以编辑的，而且编辑后产生的变化会立即反映到原来的访问页面中。选择 Javascript Object 查看 H1 元素所有可以用脚本编辑的属性和方法。
选择 CSS Style Rules。这时右侧的窗格将会变成两个子窗格。顶部的子窗格列出了所有可以作用于这个元素的样式（包括浏览器中已有的默认样式），下面的子窗格显示了被这些样式所定义的属性。
在右上方的子窗格中选取第二条样式，这个样式的具体定义详见
http://diveintogreasemonkey.org/css/dig.css.在右下窗格中双击 font-variant 属性，输入新值 normal。在访问页面中，可以看到“Dive Into Greasemonkey” 标志立即变为正常的大小写字母。
在右下窗格中的任意位置点击鼠标右键，选择 New Property 。会弹出一个标题为“New Style Rule”的对话框。输入属性名 background-color 后点击 OK, 再输入属性值red，并按 OK 。这个新属性将会在右下窗格中出现，并且“Dive Into Greasemonkey” 标志的背景色会立即变成红色。
如果您认为 DOM node tree 并不是您想要的，因为您需要依次展开节点来获得某个特定的元素，那么我强烈推荐您使用 Inspect Element 扩展，它能让您直接获得 DOM Inspector 中的某个元素。
 | 在安装 Inspect Element 扩展之前，您必须先安装 DOM 查看器，否则 Firefox 就不能正常启动。如果您已经遇到了这种情况，打开一个命令行窗口，进入 Firefox 的安装目录, 输入 firefox -safe-mode. 这时 Firefox 将会以安全模式启动，不带有任何扩展, 选择“工具” → “扩展” ，然后卸载 Inspect Element. |

访问Inspect Element (https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=434) 的下载页面，并安装。
重新启动 Firefox.
在“Dive Into Greasemonkey”标志上点击鼠标右键.
在出现的菜单中选择 Inspect element. DOM Inspector 将会选中这个元素，您可以立即对它查看和编辑属性。
| 在您浏览网页时，DOM 查看器 并不会一直跟随您。如果您打开了 DOM 查看器, 然后又访问了其他的网页， DOM 查看器 将不能确定您要查看的对象。 好的做法是，在您访问其他页面之前，先关闭 DOM 查看器如果您还要使用 DOM 查看器请您重新打开一次，而不是使用原来打开的那个。 |
