Thunderbird介绍，第一部分

微软的"Microsoft Outlook Express" 在过去的几年里一直是人们收发电子邮件的首选工具。这并不仅仅是由于他有着很好的功能，同时有着微软这个软件巨人的支持以及很少有与之相抗衡的软件的兴起。

没国多久，雷鸟诞生了，这是一款完全可以和巨人相抗衡的电子邮件客户端软件，她有与OUTLOOK相似的功能优秀的交互见面，不同的是，她是免费的。

雷鸟是开放源代码的软件，有着强大的技术支持（MOZILLA）。在这里我要感谢那些默默为开源事业贡献自己力量的人们，他们花费了大量的时间和精力来开发项目，虽然Thunderbird现在还不是尽善尽美，但是对于一般人来说,还是很优秀的。

的确，对新事物的接受需要一个循序渐进的过程，我们的目的就是要通过这篇文章让大家充分了解雷鸟——这款优秀的邮件收发工具！

关于安装？

首先,你需要下载安装文件. 对于Linux的用户来说,可以使用apt或者yum从软件仓库中方便地下载. 对于Windows或Apple的用户,请从上面提到的官方主页中下载.这样,才能保证您得到的是安全,稳定的版本. 不要去那些软件下载站下载,它们并不能保证你所下载的程序的安全性.

运行下载的程序进行安装.

阅读文档，同意点"下一步",不同意则点"取消".

选择安装类型(使用默认的就可以).

选择安装路径,如果嫌麻烦的话就用默认路径吧！

安装成功！

点击第一次运行.

配置

第一次运行的时候需要建立一个新帐号.

点击"新帐户".

选择"电子邮件帐号"，点"下一步".

填写姓名和地址，点"下一步".

选择收发邮件的方式，收取邮件有POP和IMAP两种方式,一般在电子邮件服务提供商的网页上会有详悉的介绍,请参考服务提供商所提供的信息进行设置.之后点"下一步".

现在填写收取和发送邮件时的用户名.点"下一步".

帐户的名称可以随意填写.点"下一步".

一些概要和个人信息，点"完成".

选择"获取消息".

填写密码，顺便说一句,也可以让雷鸟帮你保存密码.
